Terms of Service
Last updated July 2026 · reference build
1. About this build
Reelist is a cshell reference build: a working demonstration of a social film-logging product. The film catalogue is a generated fictional dataset, not a licensed film database. Commercial surfaces operate in free-mode and collect no payment. These terms describe the service as it functions here.
2. Your membership
You may browse without an account. To log films you create a membership confirmed by a one-time code and a display name you choose. You're responsible for the activity under your membership. Display names are unique per site; we may reclaim names that impersonate others.
3. Your content
Your reviews, lists, ratings, tags and diary entries are yours. By posting them you grant Reelist a licence to display them to other members as part of the service. You can edit or delete your content at any time, and export it as CSV whenever you like.
4. Acceptable use
Be a decent member. Don't post unlawful, hateful, or harassing content; don't scrape the service or abuse the API; don't impersonate others. The site owner can review or remove anything anyone posts and can remove a member entirely. Consensus features like Showdown are community artifacts — no gaming the tally.
5. Pro & payments
The core community layer is free. Pro and Patron are optional subscriptions covering stats and cosmetics. In this reference build, checkout runs in free-mode: an order is recorded, but no card is collected and nothing is charged. On a live deployment, payments are processed by the account owner's own payment provider.
6. Availability & liability
The service is provided "as is" for demonstration purposes. We don't guarantee uninterrupted availability and aren't liable for lost data — though you can and should export yours. Nothing here is professional advice.
7. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be noted here with a new date. Continued use means you accept the current version.
